Statistical Testing

​- Advantage of hypothesis test
  - Can be either:
    - Two-tail (confidence interval equivalent)
    - One-tail (check against only one side of distribution) 

Elements of a Hypothesis Test 
- THE NULL HYPOTHESIS, H0.
 - A statement that compares a population statistic against some condition.
- THE ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS, Ha.
  - A statistical statement that is accepted if the null hypothesis is rejected.
