NEH: N, E, & Ellipsoidal Height

This record specifies map projection coordinates and ellipsoidal height of a station. It is used to provide initial coordinates, or to provide 3DC and 3DD observations.

This record has two possible formats, a long parameter name format, and a short parameter name format. If column 10 contains an asterisk (*) the long name format is expected, otherwise the short name format is expected.

The short parameter name format is as follows:

Columns 002-005: NEH
Columns 007-007: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal latitude
Columns 008-008: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal longitude
Columns 009-009: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal height
Columns 010-010: (blank)
Columns 011-022: Station name
Columns 024-039: Northing coordinate
Columns 041-056: Easting coordinate
Columns 058-067: Ellipsoidal height
Columns 069-075: Map projection name
Columns 077-078: Linear unit name
Columns 080-085: Network layer of station
Columns 087-137: Description of station

The long parameter name format is as follows:

Columns 002-005: NEH
Columns 007-007: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal latitude
Columns 008-008: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal longitude
Columns 009-009: Flag for fixing ellipsoidal height
Columns 010-010: * (asterisk)
Columns 011-041: Station name
Columns 043-058: Northing coordinate
Columns 060-075: Easting coordinate
Columns 077-086: Ellipsoidal height
Columns 088-094: Map projection name
Columns 096-097: Linear unit name
Columns 099-104: Network layer of station
Columns 106-156: Description of station

The flags for fixing coordinates result in a coordinate being free (not fixed) if it is 0 or blank. Any other character results in fixing the coordinate. The map projection name must match those provided on a defined map projection.
